| LUMiSpoc® 은 suspension 과 emulsion 상에 있는 나노 & 마이크로 입자 (또는 droplet) 의
particle size distribution 과 particle concentration 을 측정하는 최고 성능의 single particle 분석장비이다. |

| 이 장비가 개별 입자를 측정하는 방식은 새별 세포의 개수를 측정하는 flow cytometer 와 유사하다.
개별 입자가 laser beam 을 통과할 때 입자를 통과하는 직진 방향으로 scattering 하는 forward light 와
입자에서 90도 각도로 반사하여 scattering 하는 sideward light 를 측정하는 기술을 기반으로 하는데
이 기술을 Single Particle Light-Scattering Technology® 이라 하며 세계 최고의 입자 특성 분석 기술을 가지고
있는 독일 LUM 사의 특허 받은 기술이다. |

|
| optical flow cell 에서 빠르게 흐르고 있는 sheath flow 에 의해 중앙에서 천천히 흐르는 sample flow 에 있는 particle 들은
하나씩 떨어져 (hydrodynamic focusing ) 레이저빔 위치로 이동하게 된다. |
|
| single particle 이 레이저빔을 통과하면 빛은 모든 방향으로 scattering 하게 되는데 0° 방향 (forward) 과 90° 방향 (sideward) 에서
scattering light 를 동시에 증폭, 측정하여 실시간으로 분석하게 된다. |
|
| 측정된 개별 입자의 scattered light intensity 는 백만개 이상의 bin 으로 sorting 되어 고해상 bar 차트로 표시되어
particle 의 count distribution 을 나타내게 된다. |
|
| 분류된 intensity 는 Mie 이론에 의해 particle size distribution density 로 전환되어 표시된다. |
